Another Fun Day At The Lake

Today we headed down to Lake Isabella. Camden Craig came with Matthew. We also met the Crowleys there. The boys caught a lot of fish. Jack even caught a fish with his hands. They did all kinds of tricks off the dive. It made Angie and I a nervous wreck! I was so exhausted today that I fell asleep on the beach. I owe Angie an apology- I don't think I was very good company. I stayed up way too late reading and quilting. When were getting ready to leave Angie and I had the boys throw all the fish back. Somehow Jack sat on the bucket and fell in. He was then stuck and stuck tight. While trying to get him free a very big bee got stuck in my beach cover-up and stung me good! It has been a while since I have been stung. I forgot how bad it hurts. Angie performed first aid and I survived. It took both Angie and I to get Jack out of the bucket. Talk about not having a camera when you need one. The boys begged long enough for Angie and I to give in for a switch of kids. I brought Camden, Connor, and Matthew home with me. Jack went to play with Cameron and Chloe. The older boys built a bike ramp and filmed each other. They then played x box. I made a dinner of tacos, corn on the cob, crispy crowns, fried zuchinni and nachos. There was nothing left. Those boys can eat.
When Jimmy went to get Jack he somehow fell out of wagon and banged up both knees and wrists. The poor kid had a rough day. He would be a good campanion for dad. They have about the same kind of luck. Mom- Don't let Dad sit on any buckets!
That about sums up our day. We are all tired and are ready for bed.
Good night!

Hilton Head Pics

Matthew and Jack spent a lot of time catching lizards and toads. What are little boys made of?
On our last day we went to a sand bar. We saw horse shoe crabs, baby sharks, jellyfish, sand dollars, starfish, and lots and lots of shells. We rode bikes to get there. It was probably about a 12 mile trip. Jack did it, but his little legs were worn out by the time we got back. Not to mention mom's. It didn't help poor Jack that his bike was too big for him. I have to say- I was very proud of him.

A shark that was caught on Jimmy and Matthew's fishing trip.
Nice hair! The boys loved to skim board, it was a little too windy this night though.
Full of curiousity!!
Matthew is so excited to get on that fishing boat!

Skim Boarding Fun!!!

A Rainy Day In Hilton Head

Jimmy and Matthew tried to go shark fishing. They got out on the ocean and got to fish a little and then a storm blew in. Weather permitting, they will try again this afternoon. I had the pleasure of shopping the outlet malls with Jack. He loved every minute of it- NOT! I did the boys their school shoes and a few t-shirts. There is a quilt shop on the island- I am hoping of going there today. Other than that it will be another hard day on the beach and by the pool. I love it!!!

Hilton Head

We are now on Hilton Head Island and enjoying it!
We arrived on Saturday afternoon. We did the business of the grocery shopping and getting the beach pass.
On Sunday we spent the day at the beach and then relaxed by the pool. We had to make a quick trip to TJ Maxx. Jimmy was so proud of himself for packing light. He forgot his swim trunks, a t-shirt, and socks. Well, that is one way to pack light! We made dinner at the condo. The boys had Jack's favorite - Tacos. According to Jack, Nana and I make the best tacos. I'll have to compare notes with Nana because my recipe is very complicated- whatever taco dinner kit is on sale! Jimmy and I had grilled hamburgers. Everyone had corn on the cob, watermelon, and Crispy Crowns. It was a very filling dinner.
Monday Jim and I rode bikes down the island and then back on the beach. What a workout! The boys then swam at the pool for a little while. After that we went to Savannah! I would love to go back so that I could tour the old homes. So much interesting history! We drove back in a terrible thunderstorm. We got directions for a shortcut back to the island, however the storm caused a large tree to blow down in the middle of the road and we had to turn around and go back the other way. At least it was scenic. By the time we got back to Hilton Head we were all starved. We ate dinner at the Crazy Crab. As always it was delicious.
Matthew can't wait until 2:30. He and Jimmy are going shark fishing. Not my thing and I don't think Jack is ready for that. I am going to take him swimming and to a place to paint pottery.
I have great pictures, but we forgot the cord to download so those will have to wait.
Miss everyone and will see you this weekend!

Soak Up Sunshine

Wwe We went to the lake on Tuesday. Matthew, Jack, and Cameron swam out to the dock. Angie and I were a nervous wreck the whole time they were out there. They were proud of themselves though. Marianne, Avery, and Sydnee also went to the lake with us. I forgot how little ones can keep you hopping. So while Marianne was chasing and playing, Angie and I were fretting. It doesn't matter the age- our children are always our first concern. Those concerns just change as they grow.

Week Of July 19-25

We have not been doing too much lately. The weather has been cool the last few days. Last week the boys had eye exams. I can't believe how much that cost me! No one had any changes with teir sight which is good. The boys swam at the Crowley's last week while Katie and I walked Daisy with Makenna and Cami. On Wednesday evening Katie and I went to the Taste of Zanesville (kid-free). It was a good time. Katie won a beautiful pottery bird bath made by Burley Clay. She only spent 75 cents. I tried and gave up after three dollars worth of quarters landed on the ground. I am glad she won though. The bird bath will look so pretty in her new landscaping. Later that week we took the boys to see the Harry Potter movie. It was so long. I don't get what all the fuss is over those books and movies. On Saturday the boys and Jimmy worked at the Miracle League. Matthew really enjoys it. Jack does too, but he feels nervous. Makenna keeps him hopping though! Jimmy took Matthew golfing on Saturday. On Sunday we visited St. Luke's Lutheran Church. We all enjoyed the service, excluding Jack. He did enjoy the juice and cookies afterward. Matthew and Jim just left to watch Michael at Vista View. He is trying to qualify for the ZDGA.

We leave Saturday for a week-long trip to Hilton Head. J.C. generously offered us his condo. We can't wait! It has been about five years since our last family vacation.

Hopefully I'll have more pictures next time.

More Pics from our visit to the "Animal House!"

Even Daisy, Bear, Leo, and Harriet Miss You!!!

Harriet came out to say a quick hi, but nothing more.

Jack held Leo and he and Daisy posed for the camera.

Bear couldn't get enough attention from us. Makenna didn't want anything to do with him. However, Nosy Rosy was very curious.

What a cute little puppy.

Daisy was so excited to see us, I couldn't get her to settle down to get a good picture.

Fourth of July Weekend

Grandma and Cammi enjoy the wonderful 4th of July Picnic hosted by Judy and Michael.
Jimmy took Matthew, Jack, and their cousin, Kaitlyn to Blackhand Gorge for bike riding on Sunday! The weather was perfect for it.
Matthew, Jack, and Kaitlyn "hammin'" it up.
Drink Break!!
Jack outgrew is last bike quite a while ago. We went to Wal-Mart this morning to get a bigger one. He has trouble reaching the peddles, but he'll grow into it!

Lake Isabella

We went to Lake Isabella today. Matthew and Connor caught several turtles. Matthew then found a baby bird that went under the van. He finally caught it with a net. He was careful not to touch it. Jack, Cameron, and Chloe tried to coax it out with a worm. That didn't work too well.

This Week's Plans

Saturday: I am going to a quilt show with some women from the Lutheran Church on Pine Street. I am excited to go! Jimmy and the boys will be volunteering at the Miracle League baseball games today. They plan to go see Transformers in the afternoon.
Tonight I'd like to finish piecing the quilt for our bed. It is huge. I hope that I will be able to finish the quilting some day. I am going to have to keep the pattern pretty simple.

Sunday: We will probably mow grass, work in the yard, and get groceries. Not a very exciting day.

On Monday Matthew has bass guitar lessons. He is getting really good. His teacher said he has a real aptitude for learning guitar. We may go to the lake. The boys want to see the Crowley kids and go fishing. I wouldn't mind relaxing in a beach chair with a good book. We will most likely go to the lake any day the it isn't raining. The boys really need to get out of this house and away from each other for a little while. On Thursday I have my quilt night and Friday is junior golf for Matthew.

This Week's Plans

Today the boys and I got to babysit Makenna and Cami. Taking care of four is not easy, but it was fun. They boys were a lot of "help". They can't get enough of Cami. Of course we took a long walk. Jack puckered out on me so I had to push the stroller and hold Makenna's hand. (Not an easy task!)
We got an unexpected call from Nan. Jack went to play with Kaitlyn and Matthew played golf with JC and Michael at Eaglesticks.

Tomorrow- In the morning I am going to go down and play with Daisy. Matthew is planning to play golf. He wants to go even if he has to golf by himself. He is so independent. Jack is excited because it is Nan day. They plan to make Flubber! Better Nan than me!!:)

Wednesday- I hope to take the boys to the lake. Matt wants to fish. Jack doesn't want to go because the Crowley's are on vacation with their dad and won't be there.

Thursday- We babysit Cami. She is so cute! I will go to quilting in the evening.

Friday- Matt will play golf at Green Valley.

A cousin is a ready-made friend for life.

Matthew and Jack volunteered to be buddies at the Miracle League Baseball Games. I was so proud of them! They were so helpful. Matthew was a buddy to a little boy named Tyler. Jack was Makenna's buddy. Makenna hit the ball and scored! Way to go Matthew, Jack, and Makenna. Jimmy is also volunteering for the league. He is an assistant coach. I am proud of all my boys.

Little Boys Are Treasures

Who are worth their weight in gold
And charm everyone around them
From the time they're hours old?

They're Mommy's little darlings,
They're a special pal to Dad,
And they bring the very happiest days
A family's ever had!
